Can Replit Replace Your Web Designer? My Honest Take After Arlan Hamilton’s AI Webinar

Yesterday, I joined a live webinar hosted by Arlan Hamilton on how to build your own landing page using Replit—an AI-powered assistant that’s primarily used for building apps. But for the sake of this blog post, I’ll be sharing my experience using it to create a landing page.

Now, I’m not someone who’s afraid of AI “taking my job.” I’ve seen firsthand how life-changing tools like ChatGPT can be. They haven’t replaced me—but they’ve made me way more productive. That means more time for the things I actually love: surfing, reading, traveling, and moving my body outdoors.

Still, I’d be lying if I said I don’t worry about staying relevant in a fast-changing digital world. First it was writers and content creators, now it’s web designers and developers getting a run for their money.

So, I decided to test it out for myself.

After following Arlan’s special prompt and feeding it into Replit, I had a functioning landing page in under 10 minutes.

Here’s My Honest Review of Replit as a Web Design Tool

1. Replit is a tool, not a designer.

Yes, it generates code. Yes, it builds a working website. But it still needs direction. You need solid prompts (which you could get from ChatGPT or a copywriter), and you need a basic eye for design. Otherwise, you’ll get something…meh.

2. The output was underwhelming.

The landing page Replit built for me was functional, but it lacked aesthetic appeal and polish. I wouldn’t feel confident attaching my name to it without some serious upgrades.

3. It's not drag-and-drop friendly (like Squarespace)

You can’t easily update the page yourself. Instead of clicking to edit text or swap images, you have to talk to the AI, like giving instructions to a freelancer. That might work for some folks, but I found it clunky. Ideally, you’d have both options.

4. It’s budget-friendly—but not necessarily launch-ready.

Sure, it’s cheaper than hiring a professional—and less of a headache than DIY-ing from scratch—but the final product isn’t quite “publish and go.” At least not for brands that care about design, user experience, and conversions.

Final Thoughts: Is Replit good for conscious entrepreneurs?

If you’re a purpose-driven business owner looking to test an idea, validate a service, or build a very simple landing page—it might be worth a try.

But if you want your online presence to actually reflect your energy, values, and brand—I’d still recommend working with a human. At least to guide the process.

She Found Me Through ChatGPT: Proof That Nicheing Down (Still) Works

Yesterday I had a discovery call with a potential client and she opened with:

“I found you through ChatGPT.”

What?! Really? Tell me more...

She was looking for a Squarespace professional who specializes in working with healers and conscious business owners. And guess what? That’s exactly my niche.

I am SO glad I took the time a few years ago to update my SEO and start creating content for the people I actually want to work with. That little digital breadcrumb trail? It led her straight to me.

Moral of the story: THIS STUFF WORKS.

Organic traffic is still a thing.
SEO is still a thing.
Blogging is still a thing.
Content marketing isn’t just a buzzword, it’s still very much a thing.

Even if it feels like you’re posting into the void, even if your analytics are meh and your traffic is a ghost town—keep going.

Because here’s the truth: when you niche down, you help the people who need you most actually find you.
Not just random followers. Aligned, ready-to-pay, dream-clients.

Now, let me be clear: nicheing down does not mean flattening yourself to fit some overly specific internet box. You are allowed to be complex. You are allowed to evolve. As Walt Whitman said:

“Very well then I contradict myself,
I am large, I contain multitudes.”

Same, Walt. Same.

Nicheing isn’t about contradiction—it’s about clarity. It’s a hack to deliver the most impact and (bonus!) sustain yourself in the process. Especially in the digital age, platforms like Google, YouTube, and ChatGPT are literally trying to help people find you—but only if they know what to look for.

So no, you don’t have to abandon your multitudes. But yes—claim a niche.
Serve that niche with consistent content and aligned offerings.
Build it… and they will come. ChatGPT will make sure of it.

Not sure what your niche should be?

You Can Have It All, Just Not At The Same Time

In my most recent virtual therapy session, I found myself explaining to my therapist that I wanted to be able to travel freely and also be grounded somewhere. From what it sounded it like, it seemed like she was trying to persuade me otherwise. I think she thinks that my wanderlust is me running away from something she has yet to discover. That’s when I told her matter of factly, “You know, I believe I can have it all.” She didn’t say much more. Our session was nearly done and I don’t think either of us wanted to open up a new can of worms.

A few days later though, I was listening to a cheesily titled self-help book about manifestation on my free library app called “Calling in the One”, when the narrator said these words, “You can have it all, just not at the same time.” I immediately rewound it so that I could jot it down in the notes section of my phone along with all the other million-dollar ideas and quality insights that pop into my mind never to be read again. Except the universe wasn’t ready for me to forget this phrase so hastily.

A few days more passed and I found myself in Loulé, Portugal (where I still am) volunteering at an animal rescue center called Animal Rescue Algarve. Before bed last night I was chatting with my roommate, a 41-year-old Belgian woman who had been volunteering at the organization for a few months already, about traveling and living the life of a wanderer. That’s when she began opening up to me about the inner torment she was feeling about having to return to Belgium in a few months. “The thought of sitting at a desk working a 9 to 5 sounds dreadful,” she moaned. “When I’m home,” she continued, “my need for community is fulfilled, but when I’m traveling, my need for adventure and freedom is fulfilled.” I thought I could sense a twinge of sadness or confusion lingering beneath her words, but that’s when she perked up and said, “I’ve come to realize that I can have it all, just not at the same time.”

A big grin appeared on my face. Though I hadn’t felt an instant connection to her, I suddenly felt like I’d found a kindred spirit. In fact, one of the reasons I chose to come on this adventure was so that I could meet people who shared my mercurial nature, whimsical spirit, and undying wanderlust. My therapist and most of my friends in Berlin (and worldwide) loved to travel but they either had kids, plants, partners, steady jobs, property, (or all of the above) to look after and couldn’t just freely roam around the planet whenever they wanted to as I could. And so I felt like I hadn’t found anyone who could truly relate to this deep desire of mine to be everything, everywhere, all at once. Until now. Here I was in sunny Portugal sharing a trailer with someone who was as thinly tethered to the place she called home as I was, and who was also practicing arranging her life in a way that would satisfy her conflicting needs for stability and for wanderlust.

For the first time in a long time, I am no longer partnered. Though I haven’t quite figured out how to set up my life, I feel that I am getting closer to figuring it out. I’ve pretty much accepted that it won’t be a conventional setup - and that’s ok because I can (and I will) have it all… a dog (or two) nuzzled up next to me, sun on my face, friends who have become family surrounding me, a  partner with a kindred wanderlust spirit by my side, the ability to drop everything and volunteer around the world for causes that ignite my soul or visit family in familiar, far off lands just so I can laugh with them under the same roof, and maybe even a cute kid bouncing around on my lap… I just might not be able to have it all at the same time.

Oh, life -  how beautiful and strange you truly are.

Can you relate to the phrase, “you can have it all just not at the same time’? If so, I’d love to hear about it :) I am always keen on connecting with other free spirits.

My Favorite Conscious Business Tool: Yoga Nidra

yoga nidra

In addition to sharing my content marketing and website knowledge on this blog, I'd like to start sharing some of the tools that have helped me become a more conscious business owner (and human). Why? Because they have been instrumental in helping me grow as a person and entrepreneur. They have helped me get out of my head and ground back down into my physical body so that I can actually take the necessary steps forward to actualize my dreams. My hope is that these tools help you do the same.

So in this blog post, I’ll be covering my absolute favorite tool to help ground and recalibrate (although be warned, I will likely say they are all my favorites :) )….I present to you YOGA NIDRA.

First off, I’ll do my best to explain WTH Yoga Nidra even is. Contrary to its name, Yoga Nidra has nothing to do with the yoga you're probably used to - there are no upward dogs required. Instead, all you have to do is lay down in bed, pull a blanket over you, and close your eyes. In short, Yoga Nidra is also sometimes referred to as a Yogic Sleep. It’s that blissful moment of time between wakefulness and sleep and is induced through a mix of body scan and breath awareness. Most Yoga Nidras also include visual and sensing components as well. The result is deep relaxation and rejuvenation of energy.

Some of the other benefits of Yoga Nidra include reduced stress or anxiety, better sleep, and improved mindfulness. You can read more benefits of this practice on the National Library of Medicine site here.

Personally, I use Yoga Nidra when I wake up in the middle of the night and can't turn off my racing thoughts. Yoga Nidra helps me glide back into slumberland. It's also a great tool to use when I didn't sleep well the night before and need a pick-me-up mid-day. Instead of reaching for a coffee or sweet treat, I give myself a 25-min of Yoga Nidra session. Afterward, I usually feel my energy double. Have I convinced you to try it out, yet?

Below are my favorite Yoga Nidras (and they can all be found on the Insight Timer app for free)…ENJOY!

  1. Yoga Nidra for Relaxation - The StillPoint ( I use this one the most!)

  2. Yoga Nidra for Sleep - Jennifer Piercy

  3. Yoga Nidra for Deeper Sleep - John Siddique

Have you ever tried Yoga Nidra? What was your experience? I’d love to hear about it!
